Last model year, Volkswagen released the all-new, third-generation Tiguan with sophisticated styling solidified around a two-row seating configuration. The chiseled styling of previous generations gave way to a smoothly modern exterior and a totally revamped cabin embedded with the latest technology. For 2026, VW built on this solid foundation by adding the SE R-Line Turbo, which sits atop the lineup and replaces the SEL R-Line. Not only is this trim a luxury-laden machine with leather upholstery and massaging front seats, but it gets an upgraded version of the company’s proven turbocharged AE888 powerplant. That retuned engine makes an engaging 268 horsepower, a hefty 67-horsepower boost of the base unit. VW also includes standard 4Motion all-wheel drive on the SE R-Line Turbo, making it even more capable.
