2021 Volkswagen Arteon for Sale in West Warwick, RI
As young as the Volkswagen Arteon is (it debuted in 2019), it’s already sporting some significant changes inside and out. The sleek fastback sedan is back for model year 2021 with some updated technology and aesthetic updates, starting with a new light bar in the grille surrounds the modernized Volkswagen logo, making the Arteon the first model to wear this revised insignia. Inside, the dashboard now flaunts VW’s state-of-the-art customizable Digital Cockpit and updated Discover Media touchscreen infotainment system. The center console and door trim have been overhauled as well with upgraded fabrics and leather accents. Ambient interior lighting with 30 different color schemes, aluminum trim, simulated-leather, and premium stitching also lend more elegance.
Trims and Powertrain
The Arteon’s trim lineup has been streamlined this time around to just the SE, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line. Under the hood of each is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 268 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque; an eight-speed automatic transmission handles the gear changes. Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system is optional on the SEL R-Line and standard on the SEL Premium R-Line. The FWD Arteon is rated by the EPA to achieve 22 city mpg and 32 highway mpg, which dips a tad to 20 city/31 highway with 4Motion AWD.
Amenities by Trim Level
The SE comes with a slate of notable features: 18-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights, LED taillights, heated side mirrors (auto-dimming on the driver’s side), rain-sensing windshield wipers, keyless entry and ignition, Car-Net remote services, a fully customizable Digital Cockpit, heated power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, stainless-steel sport pedals, leatherette upholstery, comfort sport seats, three zones of automatic climate control, two front USB charging ports, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rearview camera, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat with center armrest.
The SEL R-Line upgrades its list with 19-inch wheels, power-folding side mirrors, adaptive headlights, a panoramic sunroof, R-Line badging and a trim-specific front bumper, ambient interior lighting, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, premium Nappa leather seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and remote start. The SEL Premium R-Line is indeed loaded, getting 20-inch wheels, a hands-free easy-open trunk, ventilated front seats, a massaging driver’s seat, a rear USB charging port, and heated rear outboard seats.
Safety and Technology
Today’s drivers are looking for the latest and greatest active safety technology, and every 2021 Arteon gets a good array of it. The standard technologies on the SE are forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SEL R-Line also has adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, and dynamic road sign display. The SEL Premium R-Line has an automatic parking feature and a surround-view camera system.
The SE and SEL R-Line both have VW’s 8-inch Discover Media infotainment touchscreen that’s powered by the latest MIB3 entertainment system. This consists of voice recognition, multi-phone pairing, navigation, and the wireless VW App-Connect (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto). Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD and satellite radio, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot are also issued. The SEL Premium R-Line gains a premium 12-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system with pre-configured listening settings (Pure, Chill Out, Live, and Energy).
