Volkswagen will be outfitting the ID.7 with an entirely new all-electric powertrain. The standard configuration will use a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup that produces 282 horsepower, making this VW’s most powerful EV to date. At a later point, VW will likely announce the availability of a stronger dual-motor all-wheel drive arrangement. The company says the ID.7 will have a targeted driving range as high as 435 miles, depending on the trim level and battery size.
Volkswagens are fine-looking vehicles, and the highly anticipated ID.7 will be no different. It’ll show off a long, aerodynamic profile complemented by an attractive sloping roofline, creating a premium and sporty aesthetic. Aside from looks, the ID.7 will be equipped with sought-after features, including plenty of the latest technology. As an example, there will be a sophisticated sensor system that can detect the driver’s presence upon approach and automatically activate that person’s preferred climate-control settings.
VW has optimized the ID.7’s interior for occupant engagement and comfort – and it’s likely that this deluxe design is setting the stage for their future EV lineup. Technology is abundant, and at the center of all the action is a cutting-edge infotainment system that uses a new operating system. It’s contained within a floating 15-inch touchscreen that incorporates an electronically adjustable air-conditioning system with position memory for the vents. On top of that, the ID.7 will offer a futuristic augmented-reality head-up display.
The ID.7 will also be eligible for a unique panoramic sunroof with electrochromic dimming, enabling you to swiftly switch the glass between transparent and opaque. Like many of the ID.7’s other interior systems, this novel sunroof can be controlled through spoken commands using the new IDA voice assistant feature. Not only that, but there’ll be optional massaging front seats with Climatronic heating, cooling, and drying, as well as a high-end 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
The 2024 Volkswagen ID.7 will be set up with the brand’s full roster of Level 2 IQ.Drive active safety technology, which includes important features like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The most outstanding available component, though, will be Park Assist Pro with Memory. This innovative system can remember different parking maneuvers and carry them out independently, adding a whole new level of convenience to your daily drive.
