2022 Volkswagen Arteon for Sale in West Warwick, RI
Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
Volkswagen’s sharp-looking Arteon comes in SE R-Line, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line trim levels. One of 2022’s changes is a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The SE R-Line gets front-wheel drive, while the SEL R-Line and SEL Premium R-Line are made with all-wheel drive. To make your life even easier, every ’22 Arteon comes with VW’s Carefree Maintenance Program, which provides on-the-house scheduled maintenance visits for 2 years/20,000 miles (whichever comes first).
No matter which trim you choose, the Arteon is packed with great features. The entry-level SE R-Line has things like automatic LED headlights, heated side mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, rain-sensing wipers, and 18-inch wheels. Its cabin is equally enticing as it gets push-button ignition, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control (three-zone), sport bolstered power-adjustable front seating with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multi-function haptic touch surfaces, a wireless smartphone charger, Digital Cockpit (a fully digital 10-inch instrument cluster), dual front USB-C data ports, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat with a center armrest.
The SEL R-Line is even more upscale. It flaunts upgraded headlights that adjust to illuminate around corners, power-folding side mirrors with memory, 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, steering wheel paddle shifters, driver’s seat memory, heated front seats, multi-color ambient interior lighting, and Nappa leather upholstery. The top-spec SEL Premium R-Line gets the most luxurious equipment: a hands-free trunk, a massaging driver’s seat, heated rear outboard seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a rear-seat USB-C charging port.
Active Safety Technologies
Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE suite of driver-assistive features is standard across the range. In the SE R-Line, it contains a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. In the SEL R-Line, IQ.DRIVE includes adaptive cruise control, a dynamic road sign display, automatic high beams, travel assist (this enables semi-automated hands-on driving), lane keeping assist, and emergency assist, which brings the vehicle to a full stop if the driver is unable to do so on their own. The SEL Premium R-Line is the most loaded, getting an overhead camera system and automatic parking assist.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The ’22 Arteon’s Discover Media infotainment system is quite advanced. In the SE R-Line and SEL R-Line, it features an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, voice recognition, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The SEL Premium R-Line gets all of that, plus a high-end 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Every ’22 Arteon trim is also compatible with VW Car-Net, a mobile app that allows you to control certain vehicle functions directly from your smartphone
