2020 Volkswagen Passat for Sale in West Warwick, RI
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat sedan for the 2020 model year, and there’s a lot to be excited about. For example, it now features a bolder exterior style with LED lighting, a larger and more imposing grille, and a coupe-style roofline that gives it more of an athletic stance. On the inside, the 2020 Volkswagen Passat boasts a richer interior with upgraded materials and technology, and some new active safety features have been added to keep you feeling confident on the road. That said, there’s plenty to be enthusiastic about with the 2020 VW Passat. We’ll get into more of the specifics below.
Trims and Powertrains
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat is available in four trim levels – the S, SE, R-Line, and SEL – all of which are front-wheel drive. The V6 engine is no longer offered, and so every trim now gets its power from a 2.0-liter turbo-charged four-cylinder engine. This engine, though, has been given a slight revamp to allow for greater low-end torque (206 pounds-feet compared to the previous 184 lb.-ft.). This engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drivetrain.
Comfort and Convenience
The S starts off with heated power-adjustable side mirrors with memory, LED exterior lighting, independent front McPherson struts, an independent rear 4-link suspension, and a rearview camera system. The SE ups the standard content with dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry with push-button ignition, simulated-leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The sport-oriented R-Line comes with larger wheels, a trim-specific front bumper and R-Line badging, a sunroof (which is optional on the SE), ambient interior lighting, and R-Line door sill protectors. At the top of the heap with the SEL, a hands-free Easy Open trunk, genuine-leather seating, memory functions for the driver’s seat, heated rear seats, and sport seats are all on the list of standard equipment.
Technology and Safety
Each of the 2020 Volkswagen Passat trims come with standard active safety aids. This includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and front assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and pedestrian monitoring. Lane keep assist, park distance control with maneuver braking, and park assist are all available to round out the driver-assist features. Also, although the 2020 VW Passat has yet to be crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the outgoing model was assessed for five stars overall, so it’s safe to assume that this year’s model will flaunt the same high score.
The S provides a nice set of features, such as a 6.3-inch infotainment system touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming and phone capabilities, satellite and HD radio, and a front USB data port. The SE and R-Line both receive a premium color multifunctional display (MFD) and two rear USB ports, while the SEL rounds the accommodations out with a premium Fender audio system.
