New Volkswagen 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Limited for Sale in West Warwick, RI
The popular Volkswagen crossover gets an extension to its name for 2018 as it becomes the Tiguan Limited. The name Tiguan (without Limited) has gone to the midsized SUV formerly known as the Touareg, with the introduction of the full-sized Atlas SUV. With its turbo-charged, 200-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine, the Tiguan Limited offers a fun way to drive around while toting a little more stuff. It’s ideal for a wide range of buyers, from singles to small families. Zippy crossovers are especially popular with active folks, and VW accommodates that set with available sports-related accessories, such as roof rails and racks for bicycles, SUP and surfboards, skis, and snowboards. The Urban Loader rooftop cargo attachment adds plenty of cargo space for getaways, especially when it’s in expanded mode.
There are two trims: the standard front-wheel drive and the all-wheel drive 4MOTION. Passenger room and cargo space are ample, and the interior is well-appointed and functional, with nice touches such as the center console with armrest and hidden storage area. The People First Warranty covers 6 years/72,000 miles and is fully transferable should you sell your Tiguan Limited.
The Tiguan Limited is a hip vehicle, and its buyers want their connectivity and other state-of-the-art features. Bluetooth with audio streaming is standard, as is a multi-function trip computer. A rear-view camera and Composition Color touchscreen with audio controls can be upgraded to a Composition Media touchscreen system with CD player with MP3/WMA/FLAC compatibility, and HD radio. Voice control for this system can be added within the Premium package, along with the Volkswagen Car-Net app, a USB port, SiriusXM satellite radio, and keyless access with push-button start.
Both Tiguan Limited trims have the same 200-hp four-cylinder turbo engine paired with an automatic transmission. If you want a really sporty look, you can add chrome mirror caps for about $200, a rear-hatch spoiler for just under $500, and 17-inch Corvara alloy wheels for less than $1,000.
Halogen headlights light up the road in front of the Tiguan Limited, while a rear-view safety camera adds protection while you’re backing up, and heated side mirrors melt frost and ice for a clear view down the sides. Also standard is the Intelligent Crash Response System, which automatically sets off important post-collision functions, as it activates the airbags, shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors, and turns on the hazard lights. Automatic post-collision braking will also stop the Tiguan Limited after a crash to reduce further impact.
